There are 3 main ways to reach Rushel:

1. By road

Guests travelling to Rushel Kivu Resort Lodge can reach Rushel with a 4x4 car from Kigali, by travelling via the Gisenyi or Kibuye routes from Kigali - (Rushel is before you get to either Kibuye or Gisenyi):

- GISENYI Before reaching the Gisenyi, arrive at PFUNDA TEA FACTORY and turn left , heading into Rutsiro towards Kibuye. Drive past GISHWATI forest ( about 1 hr's drive from the Pfunda Tea Factory), you get to a small trading center called NKOMERO, where you turn right. You will start seeing road signage of RUSHEL KIVU RESORT. You travel for about 10 KM of quite rough dirt road to get to Rushel, which takes about 40 minutes.

- KIBUYE : Before reaching Kibuye, you turn right at the round about in RUBENGERA town, heading into Rutsiro towards Gisenyi. After about 40 minutes - 1 hour of road, passing by RUTSIRO district, you get to a small trading center called NKOMERO, where you turn right. You will start seeing road signage of RUSHEL KIVU RESORT. You travel for about 10 KM of quite rough dirt road to get to Rushel, which takes about 40 minutes.

- PUBLIC TRANSPORT: You can take buses from Kigali that go to Gisenyi or Kibuye (3,000 - 3,500 RWF). Then take the Kivu Belt Bus to reach NKOMERO (1,500 RWF). From there the easiest way is to take Motorbikes to Rushel that charge 3,000 RWF.
