Each spacious Katara Lodge cottage was hand crafted using locally available materials and carved into the hillside by the Katara village community. The cottages combine wooden floors, grass thatched roofs and canvas that can be folded away for uninterrupted views of the park stretching out below.
The Katara Lodge bathrooms are luxuriously fitted - the romantic roll top bath, or the invigorating rain shower, provide a perfect way to unwind after a thrilling day on safari. The water is heated using solar thermal energy.
You may choose to start the evening with a sundowner on the private veranda perched on stilts. The more adventurous can spend the night under the African sky on a four poster star bed.
On a lucky day, you might be woken up by the trumpeting sound of the elephants in the savannah below.
