Day 1: - Kigali:
Arrival in Kigali – welcome by your professional English speaking guide – Depending on arrival time check-in at your hotel and afterwards go for a Kigali city tour. The Kigali city tour takes approximately 2 hours and incorporates a visit to Nyamironko Kigali market, a pottery project, some of best handicraft shops in Kigali, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre o/n Banana Boutique Hotel Kigali, BB basis.
Day 2: Kigali city tour, Genocide Sites and the Reconciliation Village in Bugesera:
After breakfast, conduct a detailed visit to the Genocide Memorial in Gisozi.
The genocide memorial site is located in Kigali in Gasabo district. It is found in a distance of approximately 35 kmsaway from the City centre of Kigali. It was opened for tourism in 2004 and this marked the 10th anniversary of the Genocide. It is believed that the remains of almost 250,000 victims have been reinterred in the cemetry. The site also houses an exhibition and there are plans of creating a library and also teaching the genocide history. You will wind up the day by visiting more genocide memorial sites and other village in Bugesera. o/n Banana Boutique Hotel Kigali BB basis
Day 3: - Ntarama and Nyamata Genocide Memorial and transfer to Akagera National Park:
After breakfast, transfer to Ntarama and Nyamata – visit the genocide memorial and the reconciliation village. Transfer to Akagera National Park for a boat ride on Lake Ihema: Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge BB basis.
Day 4: - Akagera National Park:
Early breakfast at 5:30am then go for a game drives, bird watching and later enjoy the Pastoralist heritage experience. Drive back to Kigali later in the afternoon. Overnight at Golf Hills Residence hotel in Kigali.
Day 5: – Nyanza, Butare , Murambi Genocide Memorial Site and Nyungwe Forest:
Transfer to Butare – visit the Cathedral of Kabgayi and other many historical sites on the route to Nyungwe; Visit the Murambi genocide memorial site. visit the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza and National Museum. Visit to the women drumming group at the National University of Rwanda o/n Ibis Hotel in Butare.
Day 6: Butare-Nyungwe.
After breakfast, visit the Botanical Gardens. Visit the locally revered hot springs in Rugarama. Lunch at Butare and later we will drive to Nyungwe Forest NP. Your driver-guide will stop at the Uwinka offices to have the last update on the presence of the semi-habituated groups of chimps and colobus monkeys o/n Gisakura Guest House or Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
Day 7: - Nyungwe National Park:
Nyungwe National Park – Early breakfast at 4:30am then proceed with chimp trekking in the morning and visit tea plantation in the afternoon. Optional: Visit the market. Overnight at Gisakura Guest House or Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
Day 8- Nyungwe to Bukavu.
After breakfast, proceed to Ruzizi border, where you will meet with our DRC tour representative . Onward onto Bukavu for a Bukavu town tour before checking into your overnight hotel.
Day 9- Eastern Lowlands gorilla trekking.

Day 10.
Drive to the north of Bukavu to Lwiro and we visit the chimpanzee sanctuary at CRPL centre. You may combine your visit with a trip to the hotsprings in Katana. You may also visit many different landscapes during your stay in the area. You could visit the communities around the KBNP and officially plant trees (seedlings) with pupils of the Anga/POPOF Agroforestry secondary school. o/n Hotel BB basis.
Day 11:
After breakfast you will be transferred back to the Ruzizi border crossing, where you will be met by Karibu Rwanda's driver guide. You will then proceed to - Bujumbura HOTEL CLUB TANGANYIKA OR HOTEL DE SOURCE DU NIL
Day 12
Visit du pyramide de source du Nil au sud and reserve de Ruzizi, overnight in Hotel club Tanganyika.
Day 13:
After breakfast, transfer back to Kigali via RUHWA -BUGARAMA and onward to Butare. You may possibly proceed to Kigali, time permitting or spend the night in Butare.
Day 14:
Transfer to Kigali and onward to the airport for your departure flight.
