This short Rwanda gorilla trip is for visitors to Rwanda who wish to only track the mountain gorillas in Rwanda and perhaps dash on for their safari in Tanzania or Kenya. This short gorilla trip package can be combined with our Serengeti safari package or a holiday package to Masai Mara Kenya or a beach vacation in Zanzibar.

The Rwanda gorilla trip starts with a quick Kigali city tour to visit a genocide memorial. After lunch the short tour then proceeds to Volcanoes National Park for trekking of Mountain gorillas. You may have have time to explore the greater Virunga area or take guided nature walks prior to returning to Kigali when the tour ends.

Gorilla Trip Day 1-.

Met by your driver guide on arrival at the airport and transfer to Kigali. Briefing on your safari. After lunch, depart for Parc National des Volcans. The journey north goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterise much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible. Gorilla Trip Day 2-
Go gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a magical experience. When you get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for a late lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive, and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Afternoon at leisure in the Virunga area with your driver. Options include visiting a cultural village and local market, or visit a local school, community projects or drive to the twin Lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.

Gorilla Trip Day 3 –
After breakfast, embark on a 2.5hrs leisurely drive back to Kigali. Time permitting, do a Kigali city tour, including a visit to the genocide memorial.Later transfer to the airport for your outbound departure flight.

Price: US$1,250 per person.
Based on 1 double room, full board basis at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
2 gorilla permits per person valued at US$500 per permit.
Transportation in a 4x4 safari vehicle.
Safari price includes:
• An expert English speaking driver guide for the itinerary agreed.
• Accommodation on a shared basis and meals as stated in the itinerary
• Where appropriate park fees, nature and community walk fees, and 2 gorilla permits, valued at US$750 per permit
Safari price excludes:
• Airfares to Rwanda.
• Entry visas and airport taxes.
• Gratuities.
• Personal expenditure such as drinks and laundry at the Lodge.
