This safari of 8 days will give you a chance to experience local life of the natives who lives on the slopes of mount Kilimanjaro, Explore the natural beauty of the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, all these will give you a good acclimatization before climbing and finish by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro through Marangu route.
DAY 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to Stella Maris Executive Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: COFFEE TOUR AT NJARI AND MSUNI VILLAGES.
Guided by a local coffee farmer you will experience the whole process of coffee production from bean to cup. You will visit small coffee farms, do some coffee berry picking and see how the berries are processed. The farmer will explain to you about the organic coffee farming and fair- trade standards. The tour includes a local prepared lunch and local cup of coffee at the farm.
• Also you will experience the daily life of Chagga families. During the excursion the daily life of chagga people will be explained as well as a visit to a traditional house. Also there will be a chance to enter the mysterious underground Chagga caves.
• Cultural village walk which will show you the daily life on the slopes of Kilimanjaro. You will visit a local church, a primary or secondary school in the village and you will also pay a visit to one of the local markets.
• Dinner and overnight at Kahawa shamba Campsite which is set on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro surrounded by coffee farms and green forest with beautiful opportunities to see the summit. At campsite there is hot showers and decent toilets.
DAY 3: MARANGU GATE (1860M)-MANDARA HUT (2700M)
• After briefing and check out all your climbing gear, you will be transferred to Marangu Gate and after admission; you will start walking pole pole through the rainforest and stop for lunch. After lunch the trek will proceed to Mandara Hut. The total trekking ours is 3-4 hours, you will have dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut. 3 meals a day included.
DAY 4: MANDARA HUT (2700M)- HOROMBO HUT (3700M)
• After early morning breakfast , you will start trekking pole pole passing through timberline and then enter the health and moor zone. The trekking will take 5-6 hours to reach Horombo Hut which is standing at an altitude of 3700m. From there you will have a fantastic view of mawenz, kibo and the wide plain of maasai steppe. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut. 3 Meals a day included.
DAY 5: HOROMBO HUT (3700M) – KIBO HUT (4700M)
• Today the trek will take long before reaching kibo hut therefore early start is important, it is a tough day as trekking will take 6-7 hours. You will pass through vegetationless plateau and then enter the saddle between mawenzi and Kibo. Dinner, preparation and early sleep because you will wake up at 23:00 hours.
DAY 6: KIBO HUT (4700M)- UHURU PEAK(5895M)- HOROMBO HUT(3700M)
• This is the summit stage, it begins at midnight when the lava ash is frozen and walking on it is easier. You will pass through Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m, pole pole but surely goes upwards , then for about 6 hours you will be at Gillman’s point (5681m) the crater rim of Kilimanjaro. After a further hike of 1-2 hours, you will reach Uhuru Peak (5895m) the roof of Africa. Then you will go down following the same path; and stop at Kibo for a short rest and lunch. Afterward you be on your way to Horombo Hut where you will arrive at the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.
DAY 7: HOROMBO HUT(3700M)- MARANGU GATE(1860M)- MOSHI(HOTEL)
• After breakfast you will start descending pole pole to Marangu National Park Gate and stop at Mandara Hut for lunch. Then you will proceed walking through the rainforest to the Gate and after sign out , transfer to the hotel at Moshi where you will have dinner and celebrations for your uhuru peak achievement.
DAY 8: After breakfast proceed with your safari plans or connect to Zanzibar.

• Timing of sightseeing shall be fixed by local tour operator and all activities must be covered as it is on the itinerary unless amendment or cancellation is made by clients themselves(non refundable for any cancellation made by clients).
• Meals are served as indicated on the itinerary and where not applicable you can get from restaurants/hotels at supplement cost of 10USD.
