Uganda termed as the “Switzerland of Africa” is a premier country for keen birders. Our trips combine enjoying the wildlife while allocating more effort to finding the Albertine rift endemic birds together with a host of other species which are impossible or hard to see in other parts of East Africa.
Rwanda's Nyungwe forest boasts at least 280 species,that can be seen including 26 of the so-called Albertine Rift Endemics – more than any other site in East Africa. The avian highlight is surely the great blue Turaco – an outlandish blue, red and green bird that has been described as looking like a streamlined psychedelic turkey.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park is one of the most important sites for birds in Uganda. 23 of Uganda’s 25 Albertine Rift endemics are found here.
