Description
Mazike Valley Lodge former Kyambura Lodge is situated on the eastern edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda, with fantastic views over the National Park and the Rwenzori Mountains, Mazike Valley Lodge is in close proximity to Kyambura Gorge.
Queen Elizabeth National Park hosts almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species. This makes Queen Elizabeth National Park superb safari territory, with elephant, a multitude of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda kob all regularly sighted in the National park.
The remote Ishasha Sector is famed for its tree-climbing lions, the lodge harbours habituated chimps, the Maramagambo Forest is home to an array of forest monkeys and birds, and flocks of flamingo are resident in the environs of the crater lakes.
Mazike Valley Lodge has been built using environmentally friendly local materials fitted by workmen from the locality. Accommodation is provided in 7 spacious and tastefully designed self contained grass-thatched cottages, with bath tabs/showers with views to the park, running hot and cold water.
Kyambura game lodge is equipped with 220v electricity and a private wooden balcony perched over Queen Elizabeth National Park.
All cottages at Mazike Valley Lodge are privately spaced out in a shrubbery surrounding for proper environmental conservation. The lodge has a swimming pool, adjacent to the campfire where a local traditional dance is often performed (Banyaruguru troupe).
