In appreciation of its fragile surroundings, Mihingo Lodge is an environmentally friendly accommodation of choice for guests seeking an authentic safari accommodation experience when they visit Lake Mburo National Park, the closest game park to Kampala being only 4hrs drive away from the city centre and half way between Kampala/Entebbe and Bwindi for clients going gorilla trekking in Uganda, making Mihingo Lodge the ideal stop over safari lodge for travellers to Bwindi from Kampala.

The buildings at Mihingo Lodge are constructed in such a way as to melt into the rocky outcrops and savannah landscape around them. The main dining area at Mihingo Lodge is a large thatched structure built on top of rocks using wood from dead weathered olive trees found on the land, and native grasses. Below the dining area, an infinity swimming pool stretches out from the rocks and seems to disappear into the vast landscape beyond Lake Mburo National Park.
