The 14 days Uganda camping tour is a great way to tour Uganda at a very affordable holiday price. We provide you with a self drive budget compact 4x4 at very good self drive car hire price to enable you keep your camping tour price down.
In addition we avail you camping gear for your Uganda camping tour package. The camping equipment includes camping tents that sleep either 2pax, 4pax or 6pax depending on the number of people in your Uganda camping trip party. In addition we supply you with camping chairs, camping tables, camping cooking pots, lights etc.
Camping in Uganda has developed over the years. A number of lodges along most major tourist routes and destinations offer camping facilities and camping grounds. Uganda offers varied Eco Camping, Wildlife & Cultural Safari options. While on the Uganda camping tour you will have a chance for prolific wildlife viewing, primates tracking, Community and Cultural tours, and beautiful sightseeing. This is a camping safari that allows you to track the gorillas in Bwindi in Uganda.
For clients who prefer, we do provide driver guides in addition to the compact 4x4 car hire. Some clients may also wish to consider a mixture of camping and lodges for the camping tour package.
Uganda Camping Tour: 14 days
The camping tour follows the popular Uganda National parks route of Murchison Falls-Lake Albert-Kibale(chimpanzee tracking)-Queen Elizabeth-Bwindi(gorilla trekking)-Lake Bunyonyi-Lake Mburo-Back to Entebbe.
For self drive Uganda camping tour clients we suggest the itinerary below which can be revised according to your tour and trip requirements.
Camping Holiday 1
Our representative will deliver your self drive 4x4 car hire to you on arrival at Entebbe. You either stay in Entebbe at Boma Guest House or You proceed to Kampala and stay at Lindsay Cottages.
Camping Holiday 2
Begin the scenic drive north via Masindi town to Murchison falls national park . Arrival is anticipated at lunch time at a site with spectacular views on the top of the falls. You may have a game drive in the park and later return to your camp.
You may have candlelit dinner over a campfire and enjoy the beautiful nocturnal sights and sounds of the Pearl while at Camp Red Chilli
Camping holiday 3
After breakfast, you go for a morning game drive in the park in search of lions, buffalos, elephants and other wildlife that habit in the park. You later return to camp. In the afternoon you join a boat cruise on the River Nile river for a chance to see the animals while they come to the river to drink. You will understand why this is called the land of the hippos. You may have a night game drive befoere retiring at your camp for the night. Camp at Red Chill camp/Delta.
Camping holiday 4
After breakfast at the camp, sadly it's now time to leave Murchison Falls park and head South via Hoima. You will drive via the escarpment of the rift valley and gorgeous Lake Albert. You will witness the ongoing oil drilling activities in the Lake Ablert area. Lunch is envisaged in Hoima where you stop for a break and to recharge for the remaining drive to Fort Portal via beautiful expansive tea plantations and countryside.

On this day you may go chimpanzee tracking through the forest. In addition you will see a number of other primates that call Kibale forest home, including the red tailed monkeys, the colobus monkeys, a variety of bird species etc. In the afternoon, it would be advisable to embark on a very enriching Bigodi swamp walks before retiring to your camp at Chimps Nest Lodge.
Camping holiday 6
In the morning you may go for a refreshing guided nature walk in the forest before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National park. This is a beautiful drive with the famed Mountain of the moon visible all long the route. Arrive in the evening and have a game drive time permitting.

Camping holiday 7
Go for a very early morning game drive before the hot sun is out to catch a glimpse of the cats, leopards, lions, tigers and other game that is so abundant here. You later return to the camp site and later in the afternoon have a boat ride launch from the Kazinga channel.

Camping holiday 8
After breakfast set off for Bwindi via the Ishasha sector of the park where you can see the tree climbing lions. You proceed through Kigezi the land of the Bakiga with it's beautiful terraced hills and spectacular scenery. Little wonder that this part of Uganda is sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. The views are simply gorgeous and the air so fresh, the green so unique.
Arrive at Bwindi late in the evening at Camp at Nkuringo Gorilla Camp.
Camping holiday 9.
We presume you are here for gorilla trekking in their natural habitat. You wake up from the camp and proceed to the base of the mountains from where you proceed with your allocated rangers and guides in search of the gorilla family that is allocated to you. You will be in groups of 8. When you find the mountain gorillas, you spend 1 hr with them before returning to your camp.
If you find the gorilla early, you would have a chance to spend the afternoon participating in a local tour of the area visiting the local Batwa pygmies or have a walking safari and a dugout canoe ride on the calm and peaceful Lake Mutanda. In the evening sti back and relax at campfire where you will be entertained by tradition Bakiga dencers.

On this day you drive 4 hours and transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi for some RR. You will enjoy breathtaking scenery and views along the Bwindi-Lake Bunyonyi drive route
arriving at Lake Bunyonyi in the evening.

Camping holiay 11
You have a boat ride on the lake to visit the islands or go fishing or go for a guided cycling tour of the local area, or just simply relax lakeside and take in the awesome views and cool breeze from Lake Bunyonyi.
Camping tour Day 12
After breakfast, we leave Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to another of Uganda's National Park gems-Lake Mburo. Arrival is anticipated in the evening where you have a an evening game drive before checking into camp at Lake Mburo Campsite for the night.
Camping tour Day 13
You leave Lake Mburo after a morning game drive through the park. Lunch is envisaged with a stop over in Masaka town. You drive past the equator where you may stop for photos and purchase of local drums and art crafts. You later proceed to Kampala and check into Cassia Lodge for the night.
Cassia Lodge has no camping ground. Simply treat yourself to very comfortable accommodation as your reflect on what we believe to be a memorable camping journey through our beautiful Uganda.
Day 14
Morning is spent shopping for crafts and gifts for loved one back home. Our representative will be waiting for you at Entebbe airport to receive the car back plus the camping equipment.
