Description

The 7 days Uganda vacation package focused primarily on visiting Uganda's primates in Kibale National Park and trekking the mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi impenetrable national park. The package holiday starts with a short tour of Kampala with its bustling religious institutions and rich cultural establishments. The tour package then heads west via the beautiful gentle rolling hills of Fort Portal with its expansive tea plantations. The tour package then leads us to Kibale where we undertake nature walks through Kibale Forest and later in the morning allows us to participate in walks in the forest in search of the chimpanzees. For some visitors who prefer you may sign up for the chimpanzee habituation experience. While in Kibale optional extra activities include a Bigodi swamp walk and walks to the many crater lakes found in the Kibale area. The 7 days Uganda vacation package proceed to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park where if we are lucky may be able to spot the famous Ishasha tree climbing lions. We later in the evening arrive to Bwindi for one of the most exciting and memorable activities of the trip vacation- gorilla trekking.

CHIMPANZEE AND MOUNTAIN GORILLA EXPEDITION-7 days

Safari Vacation Day 1:
When you arrive at Entebbe airport, you will be met by our tour driver guide. You will be transferred to Kampala for a thorough safari package briefing, where everything,from safari schedule to tour package activities will be explained to you in great detail. Your tour guide will endeavour to address any concerns that you may have so that you are well prepared for the safari experience ahead for the next few safari package days
Later after lunch we embark on an afternoon city tour of Kampala the capital city of Uganda. The Kampala city tour will include visits to the cultural Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Museum, Namugongo Cathedral to visit the Uganda Martyrs; shrines, plus a visit to the Bahai Hindu Temples.

Safari Vacation Day 2: Travel Time 5hrs
After breakfast the tour package proceed to West Uganda . Lunch is envisaged in Mubende and time permitting we visit the famous Nakayima tree prior to heading to our final destination via beautiful coffee plantations arriving in Fort Portal later in the afternoon. We later leisurely transfer to Kibale forest when time permitting we embark on a guided nature walk through Kibale forest. On the night walk we track the Galagos, Bush babies, Pottos and the Night Jars with the use of Flashlights. We later retire at our overnight accommodation at Ndali Lodge or Kyaninga Lodge. Accommodation for the tour package may vary depending on budget finally agreed.

Safari Vacation Day 3:
After a very early morning breakfast at the lodge the tour package returns us to Kibale forest for later a half day Forest walk in the Kibale National Park Forest in search of the number of primates species found in Kibale Forest. We anticipate to see the Red Colubus(an endemic species only found in Kibale forest in Uganda). Other primates we are mostly to see while on the primate walk of this vacation package, include the Chimpanzees, the Grey Cheeked Mangabeys . For avid birders this is a chance to hit 2 birds with one stone. There will be plenty of rare bird species to see and photograph. In the afternoon we go a Bigodi swamp walk where we get more up close and personal with nature. We later as planned in the tour package retreat to Ndali Lodge OR Kyaninga Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Safari Vacation Day 4: TRANSIT TIME 6 HOURS
After breakfast we leave beautiful Kibale Forest and Fort Portal and head south west via Kasese and the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the tree climbing lions if we are lucky as they can be quite elusive especially during the rainy season. The tour package doesn't focus expectations on seeing the tree climbing lions but would be a bonus indeed to spot one or two. The route that the safari holiday package takes through Queen Elizabeth enables us to have game drives along the route as you will be able to spot elephants, buffalo herds, the Uganda kob and the Impalas pretty close to the roadside. We also get a chance for a photo-op at the equator crossing . Later in the evening we arrive at our intended destination of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where the lifetime adventure of gorilla trekking awaits us.

Safari Vacation Day 5: TREKKING TIME - 30 Minutes - 8 HOURS
After a very early breakfast, we assemble at park headquarters for gorilla trekking group briefings and we get assigned a gorilla family for tracking. Your driver tour guide will then transfer you to the gorilla trekking trailheads where the Gorilla trekking starts . The lodge will prepare for you a packed lunch given that some gorilla groups may take all day to track. We spend 1 hour with the gorillas, observing them as they go about their daily lives, feeding, playing , thumping their chests and fending for the young ones. After viewing the gorillas we return to the lodge for overnight. For gorilla trekking that takes a short time to find the gorillas, there will be plenty of gorilla activities to choose from, including visiting the Batwa pygmies, guided nature walks, walking safaris to Lake Mutanda for canoe rides on the lake.

Safari Vacation Day 6: Travel time 8-9hrs.
It is almost time to end our exciting chimpanzee and gorilla safari holiday package. All good things come to an end after all. After breakfast we embark on beautiful and scenic drive back to Kampala, through the Switzerland of Africa in awesome scenery, gently rolling hills, expansive banana plantations and via the beautiful Lake Mburo National Park. Lunch is envisaged in Mbarara or Masaka. he tour package later proceed to Kampala through sometimes horrendous traffic jams. We arrive at Cassia Lodge OR Le Petit Village Hotel for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan - Breakfast and Lunch.

Safari Vacation Day 7:
Depending on your flight departure time, you may spend the day in Kampala shopping for crafts or at Entebbe Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. We later transfer to the airport for your outbound departure flight to your next destination.
