Day 01: Arrival – o/n Cassia Lodge.
Meet and greet with your Uganda safari guide who transfers you to your accommodations at Cassia Lodge Kampala.
Day 02: :At leisure at Cassia Lodge. o/n Cassia Lodge.
Relaxing to great views and super ambience at this fantastic lodge to recover from jet lag and adjust to the Ugandan time zone. Afternoon Kampala city tour.
After meeting our representative, you will be guided to explore the treasures of Kampala and Buganda Kingdom. Visit Bulange and Royal Palace in Mengo, proceed to the Kasubi Tombs the burial grounds for the Kabakas (kings) of Buganda kingdom. Visit Namirembe Saint Paul Cathedral for a panoramic view of Kampala city. Have lunch in Kampala.Visit the Bahai Temple the only one in Africa of its type.
Day 03-: Mabamba Birding day excursion o/n Cassia Lodge.
Mabamba Wetlands is an Important Bird Area (IBA) and probably the best place to see the Shoebill Stork (Balaeniceps rex). The Shoebill Stork gained the name of “the most sought-after” of all the birds of the African continent. The bird can be seen in different places in Uganda and Mabamba Wetlands is without doubt one of the best places! A must for birders!
Early start at 6 a.m.! Your driver-guide will drive to Mabamba Wetlands in Mpigi District, 45 km from Entebbe/Kampala. The best time to observe birds and the shoebill stork is in the morning. A specialized local guide will make a canoe trip (Canadian type) with you through the natural channels and lagoons of the immense papyrus swamps. Mabamba offers excellent birding and the best opportunity around Kampala to see the shoebill in its natural environment.
We have a success rate of more than 80% . A must for every bird watcher! Lunch at Kisubi and in the afternoon a visit at the Wildlife Education Center or The Botanical Gardens at Entebbe. If you have missed the shoebill we advise you to visit the Wildlife Education Centre to see him there.
The half day excursion includes: return transport to Mabamba Wetlands, the use of a canoe, safety equipment, the services of a local specialized guide, plenty of mineral water, entry and guide fees, overnight at Kisubi when having a camping safari. It excludes: tips, personal expenses. What to bring? Outfit with adapted colours for birdlife observation, good walking shoes, raingear, sun protection: hat, sunglasses, sun cream, video/photo camera, a 300 mm or longer tele-lens is very useful, reserve batteries, films, binoculars
Day 04: Kampala - Murchison Falls NP - o/n Nile Safari Lodge
In the morning you drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi. On your way have a stopover at the Rhino Sanctuary and get to see Rhinos . After the stopover at the Rhino sanctuary, continue your journey to Murchison falls. You drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi and Biso. From Biso the road drops down the escarpment into Africa’s Great Rift Valley offering spectacular views of Lake Albert on the valley floor. In the afternoon you arrive at Nile Safari Camp on the banks of the Victoria Nile. Each tented accommodation of this luxurious camp overlooks the river and has en suite shower and toilet and an elevated deck on which to relax. The bar and restaurant also overlook the river and provide beautiful views of the setting sun. A pool is also available. Your dinner and overnight accommodations for the next 2 days are at the Nile Safari Lodge /L/D
Day 05: : Murchison fall NP; Game drives, boat trip & Nature walk - o/n Nile Safari Lodge
Early in the morning after ferry crossing, have a game drive in the northern sector of the park where part of the movie "The African Queen" was filmed. The animals you may see include elephant, oribi, giraffe, waterbuck, hartebeest, buffalo, sitatunga, bushbuck, warthog, bush pig, lions, leopard, e.t.c.. After lunch, you take a launch trip on the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, viewing wildlife and birds en route. Nile crocodiles are abundant as are hippo and aquatic birds. This excursion offers a good chance of seeing shoebills, a unique bird found only in a few restricted areas of Africa. You later drive to the top of the falls to obtain excellent views of the Nile plunging through a 20-foot wide gap in the rocks before dropping an impressive 145 feet over the escarpment. B/L/D
Day 06:: Murchison Falls NP - Fort Portal - o/n Primate Lodge
In the morning you drive to the Kibale Forest area, leaving the Rift Valley and passing through agricultural countryside and across the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon). In the afternoon you arrive at Ndali Lodge, on a high saddle between two crater lakes. The breathtaking views and mild climate at Ndali are just two of its best features. The rooms are decorated with local crafts and materials and feature high ceilings and four-poster beds with mosquito netting. The en suite baths have hot and cold running water and flush toilets. The lodge has no electricity but candles and oil lamps provide a romantic feel of "old Africa". Your meals and overnight accommodations are at Ndali Lodge B/L/D
Day 07: :Chimp tracking - Kibale NP o/n Primate Lodge
The Kibale Forest is scientifically one of central Africa’s best-known regions. Of the forest’s 11 primate species, most are well studied and many are accustomed to human observation. Following an early breakfast you walk into the rainforest in search of primates and other animals. Commonly seen species include red-tailed monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and both Red Colobus and Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys. As you hike the trails you listen for the distinctive pant-grunts that signal the presence of Chimpanzees. Chimps are abundant here and there is a high likelihood of your finding them. Black-and-white-casqued hornbill, great blue turaco, grey parrot and Narina trogon are a few of the many birds you may see. In the afternoon you explore a forested swamp looking for birds, primates and some of the magnificent butterflies which abound here. Later in the afternoon you return to your accommodations at Ndali Lodge. B/L/D
Day 08: Kibale National Park/Queen Elizabeth NP o/n Jacana Lodge
Following a morning walk in the Kibale Forest you drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As one of Uganda’s outstanding treasures, this wildlife sanctuary has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for Humanity. The park’s 2000 sq km encompasses a remarkable variety of habitats including semi-deciduous tropical forests, acacia bush-land, open savannah, lakes, rivers and swamps. In addition to its famous tree-climbing Lions, Uganda kob, elephant, buffalo, hippo, baboons and chimpanzees, more than 500 species of birds have been listed for the park, making it a prime location for birdwatchers. Species recorded include the shoebill, black bee-eater, 11 types of kingfishers and a variety of falcons and eagles. Your luxurious accommodation, at Katara Lodge, commands splendid wonderful views!
Day 09: Game drives & boat cruise - o/n Jacana Lodge
During the day you explore this magnificent wildlife sanctuary with game drives and a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel. This freshwater system, joining Lakes Edward and George, boasts the highest concentration of Nile Hippos in the world. In addition to these giant semi-aquatic mammals, the boat ride affords unique opportunities to view other mammals and birds as they come to the water’s edge to drink or bathe. Birding is excellent, and you can expect to see species ranging in size from the tiny Malachite Kingfisher to the giant Goliath HeronB/L/D
Day 10:: Ishasha Queen Elizabeth National Park o/n Ishasha wilderness Camp
The Maramagambo Forest is one of the largest tracts of medium altitude, moist, semi-deciduous forests in Uganda. In addition to its vibrant blue crater lakes, this unique forest provides habitat for a variety of wildlife including L’Hoest’s, vervet and red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, bush babies, olive baboons, Common and Red Duiker plus numerous species of birds. Once in the forest you walk a trail to a nearby bat cave, well known for its large colony of Egyptian Fruit Bats. As you near the cave you should be on the look out for the birds of prey, Nile Monitor Lizards and African Rock Pythons that come to feed on the bats. In the afternoon you drive to the Ishasha River Valley, one of Africa’s most spectacular areas, with open park-like wooded grasslands. Your accommodations are at an exclusive tented camp-Ishsha Wilderness Camp in this remote, southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Famous for tree climbing lions and its large herds of African buffalo, elephant, Uganda ob, topi and other antelope, this region provides an ideal location for wildlife viewing. Each tent in camp has an en suite bathroom with hot water “bush” showers and eco friendly toilet facilities. B/L/D
Day 11:: Queen Elizabeth NP/Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. o/n Buhoma Lodge
Depart from Queen Elizabeth, and start your journey to Bwindi National Park. We drive through a hilly region of neatly cultivated fields. Your accommodations for the next 2 nights are at Bwindi Lodge, on the edge of the Bwindi Forest, where each cottage has its own en suite flush toilet and warm water shower. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a World Heritage Site and the opportunity to see endangered mountain gorillas is the highpoint of your exciting safari.. B/L/D
Day 12: :Gorilla Trekking, Bwindi National Park o/n Buhoma Lodge
.The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a World Heritage Site and the opportunity to see endangered mountain gorillas is the highpoint of your exciting safari. Today after a very early breakfast, you report to the trekking assembly point for pre-trekking briefing. You visit a different group of your assigned habituated gorillas. The trek can take between one and six hours, at altitudes in excess in 7,500 feet and over rough terrain. Although the hike may be physically demanding, the anticipation of the experience is invigorating and the beauty of the forest and its inhabitants fascinating. When you encounter gorillas, your fatigue is quickly forgotten. Observing a wild gorilla family in its natural habitat and on its terms is considered by many naturalists to be the most profound wildlife experience in the world. Each strictly regulated 60-minute visit passes all too quickly and you must depart, leaving the gorillas to their fragile existence. After a visit with the gorillas and a picnic lunch in the forest each day, you return to camp with unforgettable memories of a rare and wondrous experience. B/L/D
Day 13: Bwindi/Lake Bunyonyi o/n Lake Bunyonyi Resort/Feza Cottages
Leave Bwindi National Park for Lake Bunyonyi in the morning after breakfast. After checking in at Bunyonyi safaris or Feza Cottages for some rest, later in the afternoon have a boat ride / trip along the Lake, visiting some of the 29 Islands among which are the famous Punishment and Bacurunuka “Upside Down” known for their legendary stories. Also among the Islands is Bushara Island which is commonly known and visited. Enjoy your lunch on the island return to the Lodge. D/BL
Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi/Lake Mburo o/n Mihingo Lodge
After breakfast, set off for Lake Mburo National Park. At 260 km², Lake Mburo National Park is small in comparison with many other East African parks, but with its mosaic of habitats - dry hillsides, rocky outcrops, bushy thickets, open and wooded savannas, forest, lakes and swamps - are home to a surprising diversity of plants and animals. Have an early morning game drive, and get to see animals like gigantic eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. The five lakes within the park attracts hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek. Lunch at the Lodge and later an afternoon game drive.B/L
Day 15: :Lake Mburo/ Kampala o/n Cassia Lodge
After breakfast, leave Lake Mburo National Park and head back to Kampala. You may wish to stop over at the equator for a memorable photo-op, and buy crafts and souvenirs from local crafts markets along the way. Check in at Cassia lodge later that evening and sit back and relax, while you take in the beautiful views from this vantage point. B/L/D
Day 16 –: Jinja Source of the Nile o/n Jinja Nile Resort
In the morning travel to Jinja the source of the Nile and go white water rafting along river Nile a few kilometers from the Source of river Nile. The rapids make rafting here amongst the best in the world and a very safe one. The team of professionals will organize you with proper equipment and you will have packed lunch. Visit the Source of the Nile and Jinja town as well, with its colourful gardens and Asian colonial style buildings. In the evening relax back to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort. D/L
Day 17-:The Rainforest Lodge Mabira.o/n Lake Victoria Serena Resort
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala. You stop-over @Mabira forest for an early morning primate viewing or bicycle riding along the forest trials.
Have lunch in Kampala and go to the handicraft shops in search of the perfect present for loved ones back home. BB
Day 18:,: Departure to Kilimanjaro Tanzania.
Leave for Entebbe at the appropriate time for your departure flight to Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport.
Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport you will be met by a Karibu Rwanda representative who will assist you in boarding your scheduled flight to Klein’s Airstrip. Your flight departs at 08:00 in the morning. A short game-drive transfer (10 minutes) will bring you to camp.
Day 19 & 20.: Serengeti National Park
Spend three nights at Klein’s Camp. Accommodation is in a thatched cottage with en-suite hand basins, shower and w.c. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities and concession fees.
Activities include game-drives and nature walks in the Klein’s Camp private concession. The afternoon game-drives extend after sunset with the aid of a spotlight, returning to the camp after dark.
KLEIN’S CAMP SAFARI LODGE
Klein’s Camp is set in an exclusive private concession deep in the heart of Maasai territory, neighbouring the buffalo-rich, northeastern Serengeti National Park – famed for its wildebeest and zebra Migration. Hidden among the bush-clad Kuka Hills, Klein’s Camp comprises ten intimate cottages of local rock and thatch with rich wooden floors and classic interiors. Each cottage has an en-suite bathroom with shower, twin hand-basin and w.c, and a private veranda with breathtaking views of the valley below. Guest areas include dining area with large open fireplace and beautifully furnished bar/sitting area, both with sweeping views of the valley and its surrounding hills.
A plunge pool is tucked into the hillside and a crafts shop stocks locally made Maasai crafts. Day and night game-drives in open game-viewing vehicles lead by expert guides into the private concession – set aside for the exclusive use of Klein’s Camp guests – is the ultimate private Tanzanian safari with no other vehicles for miles around. Guests can choose to enjoy their safari on the Klein’s Camp Reserve or in the Serengeti National Park. Day 21 & 22: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
Enjoy an early morning game-drive and breakfast before your scheduled flight to Manyara Airstrip. A representative from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge will meet you for your road transfer of approximately 2 hours to the lodge.
Spend two nights at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Accommodation is in a sumptuous double suite with en-suite hand basins, bath, shower and private w.c. Each suite is tended by a butler. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities and park fees.
Activities include game-drives in the Ngorongoro Crater. Additional activities may be booked directly at the lodge, subject to extra cost and availability of vehicles, and include excursions to Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands and a visit to a Maasai village.
NGORONGORO CRATER LODGE SAFARI LODGE
Perched on the edge of the famous Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular lodges in Africa. The Crater, considered one of the Wonders of the World, is a World Heritage Site and shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth – some of Africa’s last black rhino are protected within its rim and black-maned lions stalk the grasslands. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge comprises three separate and intimate camps, North Camp and South Camp (12 suites each) and Tree Camp (6 suites). Day 22, 23, 24 & 25: Mnemba Island
Enjoy an early morning breakfast. Transfer to Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha Airport. Upon arrival at 12:20, you connect onto your scheduled flight to Zanzibar Airport where you will be met by a representative from Mnemba Island for your road and boat transfer of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to the lodge.
Spend four nights at Mnemba Island. Accommodation is in a beach banda on raised platforms, made of indigenous woven palm, palm fronds and fine basket weave with en-suite shower twin hand basin and separate w.c. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities.
Activities include scuba diving (2 dives per day), snorkelling, kayaking, salt water fly-fishing, wind-gliding, kites and windsurfing.

MNEMBA ISLAND LODGE ISLAND LODGE
Situated on an intimate private island just off the north-eastern tip of Zanzibar, surrounded by its own atoll of coral reefs within a Marine Conservation Area, Mnemba Island Lodge offers privacy and rustic exclusivity unparalleled on the East African coastline. An hour-and-a-half drive from Zanzibar Airport or Stone Town brings you to the beach from where you wade knee-deep to an awaiting ski-boat for a 20-minute crossing to Mnemba Island. Ten secluded split-level beach bandas, built on platforms raised off the beach sand, carefully locate to ensure privacy, have been made of natural local materials, each featuring a spacious bathroom, with shower, twin hand-basins, and separate w.c. The elevated bedrooms are generously proportioned, and simply furnished with king sized, extra-length beds swathed in billowing muslin nets. Beach level verandas at each banda offer built-in barazas – perfect for afternoon siestas, comfortable chairs for reading, and a writing table. There are also outdoor swing beds, and private beach salas feature traditional Zanzibari loungers. The dining and bar areas have been built along organic lines, allowing unimpeded access to breathtaking sea views. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal to match Mnemba’s rustic beauty. Guests can enjoy snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking and scuba diving, and between December and March Mnemba’s rare green turtles can be seen laying their eggs. Deep-sea fishing and PADI diving courses are available at an additional cost. Day 26: Zanzibar
At leisure until your boat and road transfer to Zanzibar Airport where our services end
