Day 1: NAIROBI TO RIFT VALLEY LOLDIA HOUSE
A Governors’ Camp representative will meet you on your morning arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer you by road through the scenically beautiful Great Rift Valley to Loldia House, nestling on the shores of Lake Naivasha, a two hour drive from Nairobi. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the lawn overlooking Mt Longonot. Afternoon at leisure on the farm, with the option of an evening walk with Loldia’s resident naturalist, evening sundowners overlooking Lake Naivasha or a night game drive. Dinner and overnight at Loldia House.
Day 2: RIFT VALLEY LOLDIA HOUSE
An early breakfast, before departing for the day to Lake Nakuru National Park. Morning game drive around Lake Nakuru, famous for its abundance of flamingos and large variety of water birds. Lake Nakuru is also one of Kenya’s Rhino Sanctuaries and large numbers of Rhinos are regularly seen, along with good sightings of Leopard. A picnic lunch is served overlooking the lake. Returning to Loldia in the afternoon. Clients may also want to visit the Loldia School, which is an impressive responsible tourism initiative. Dinner and overnight at Loldia House.
Day 3: LAIKIPIA SABUK LODGE
After an early breakfast served on the lawns of Loldia House, a 7:30am departure for Wilson Airport, Nairobi. A 10:20am flight to Sabuk in Laikipia. Met on arrival at the Loisaba airfield and transfer by road to Sabuk Lodge.Sabuk Lodge is remote and beautiful, an exclusive wilderness haven on the edge of the Northern Laikipia Plateau. The lodge is perched on a cliff overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, which cascades beneath the lodge all year round. Sabuk, which remains a family home, offers wilderness, unusual wildlife sightings, and stunning views of the Laikipia plains towards Mount Kenya, as well as the Karisia Hills and Mathews Mountain Range in the North. A leisurely lunch, prior to an exciting evening activity in this private wilderness. Pre dinner drinks around the open fireplace, before a delicious candlelit dinner open to the stars. Over night at Sabuk Lodge.
Day 4: LAIKIPIA SABUK LODGE
Sabuk offers several exciting safari options, whether from a vehicle, the back of a camel, or on foot. Part of the allure of Sabuk is the ability to go beyond the traditional game drive, and enjoy Africa up close and at its most natural. You might see Greater Kudu, Reticulated Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Elephant, Klipspringer, Plains Zebra, Grevy Zebra, Warthog, Hyena, Lion, Leopard and Wild Dog and exceptional birdwatching. After a day of exploring, return to the lodge to enjoy the peace and pleasure of one of the most comfortable lodges in all of Kenya.
Day 5: LAIKIPIA SABUK LODGE
Enjoy all that this special lodge provides and the amazing activities that it offers.
Day 6: MASAI MARA GOVERNORS CAMP
An early breakfast before departure on Safarilink Aviation to at 09:05am for the Masai Mara to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrival at Musiara airstrip at approximately 11:00am. Short game drive en route to the camp before an al fresco lunch in the camp. An afternoon game drive, returing to the camp just before sunset. Pre dinner drinks around the campfire, a candlelit dinner in the dining tent or around a blazing campfire and overnight at Governors’ Camp, or Little Governors’ Camp or Governors’ Ilmoran Camp.
Day 7: MASAI MARA GOVERNORS’ CAMP
Early morning game drive at dawn, returning to the Camp for a full breakfast, served in the shade of the camps indigenous riverine forest. There are no set times at Governors’ Camps. After breakfast there is the opportunity to take a game drive along the banks of the Mara River, to witness importance of this great river to the Mara’s ecosystem or to visit some of our responsible tourism initiatives – the world’s first bio gas plant in a Masai Manyatta and also visit the Mara Rianda Primary School. Return to Governors’ Camp for a delicious al fresco lunch. At 3:30pm, depart for the afternoon game drive. The Mara is widely considered to offer the best game viewing in Africa, and the evening game drive is duly rewarding for its famous Big Cats, wildlife and birds. Returning to camp before sundown. Memorable evenings around the camp fire and fine dining.
Day 8: MASAI MARA GOVERNORS’ CAMP
Day spent exploring the Masai Mara Game Reserve and all that it has to offer. Dinner and overnight at Governors’ Camp.
Day 9: LAKE VICTORIA MFANGANO ISLAND CAMP
An early morning flight by aircraft, to Mfangano Airstrip (30 minute Flight). Arrive at Mfangano Island and take a boat trip to Mfangano Island Camp, in time for breakfast. Mfangano Island Camp is set in beautiful gardens on a secluded bay on the island. The six double rooms, all offering spectacular views across the lake are tastefully decorated in the Luo tribal style of thatch and clay. Each morning, fleets of brightly coloured fishing boats glide past, and each evening, as you dine on the freshest of catches, their lights shimmer across the water. Spend the day exploring this great Lake – the world’s second largest fresh water lake – fishing with good chances to catch the giant Nile Perch, bird-watching, boat rides or walks to the local friendly villages, or enjoy the prolific birdlife in the camp’s indigenous garden, or sit by the pool reading a book. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Mfangano Island camp.
Day 10: LAKE VICTORIA MFANGANO ISLAND CAMP
Day and overnight at Mfangano Island Camp.
Day 11: RETURN TO NAIROBI
Return to the Masai Mara by plane in time for the 16:00 flight to Nairobi. Clients are met on arrival at Wilson Airport and transferred to the Carnivore or Talisman restaurant for dinner, (Payable direct), before final transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for the international flight departure.
